Broached Floor Mirror

Jon Goulder + John Warwicker

Broached loves to reimagine antiquated typologies. The freestanding mirror has been beautifully, and playfully reimagined in this collection with a little political twist helpfully designed into the back by typographical legend John Warwicker.

The front provides the opportunity to assess whether you look good in the moment, the back reminds us of William Morris’s warning that man’s labours were (and remain) engaged relentlessly in the creation of useless items.

This is the quandary of the contemporary maker, who aspires to create the most beautiful and practical objects possible but will almost certainly go broke focusing exclusively the tiny market consisting of those who are passionate about durability, functionality and the honest use of materials.
